Get back your iPhone
The links below shows method for switching an iPhone from a unlocked state to its default factory setting. You can then go ahead to upgrade to 1.1.1. It works by refreshing the baseband firmware to factory default.
I have not tried this procedure, but if your iPhone is already bricked, you may try it. How hard can that be?
